Guanajuato, Gto., August 27, 2018.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) and Santander Universities signed a collaboration agreement through which they commit to make activities in favor of the academy and allow the optimization of the student talent.
During the signing, the President of the UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero, welcomed the delegation lead by the Executive Director of Santander Universities and General Director of "Universia México", Dr. Arturo Cherbowski Lask, and thanked the support from the banking institutions to the university community by granting scholarships.
He mentioned that Universia, "the most important network of universities in Ibero-America and an international referent of university relationship", encourages the innovation and entrepreneurship, which coincides with the objectives of the VIDA UG Ecosystem, created to put at the service of the society not only the talent of scholars and alumni, but also from the student community and, at the same time, offers the youth alternatives to develop in the entrepreneurship and participate in innovative projects.
In his message, he emphasized that the purpose of the agreement is to strengthen the ties of cooperation from the visualization of common objectives and revealed that UG has 126 agreements with higher education institutions of Ibero-America; is partner of 86 institutions, from which 70 belong to the Universia network. The geographic distance –mentioned—goes to second term when they generate virtuous bridges of communication and collaboration". In that sense, he celebrated the role of Santander Universidades and its social responsibility sense.
In the agreement, signed by Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero and Dr. Aarturo Cherbowski, are established the basis for a long and mid-term cooperation, aimed towards improving the quality of the teaching and administrative services offered by the University of Guanajuato to all the members of its university community.
The agreement establishes that, for a better performance of the collaboration, it is necessary to point out the specific areas to develop which are the academic and the technological; so, there will be the opportunity to develop projects of teaching cooperation and research, including academic exchanges with other iberoamerican universities.
In his turn, Dr. Cherbowski Lask mentioned that this agreement renews the collaboration, and highlighted that with UG they share a vision towards the youth and the development of the state. He added that with this signing, the door is open for new projects and new ways to collaborate and reiterated the support for the house of studies.
It is worthy to mention that this agreement reaffirms the relationship between UG and Santander Universidades since 2002. By signing the agreement, the University shows its institutional commitment to reinforce teaching and learning through the collaboration with prestigious institutions, allowing so the formation of professionals with better global perspectives.

The delegation of Santander Universidades was comprised by the Zone Director of Banking Institutions, M. Laura Cecilia Rosales Zamora and the State Director of Banking Institutions, Lic. Luis Gerardo Ramos Reyes.
