Celaya, Gto., August 28, 2018.-  The student of the Doctorate in Nursing Sciences, taught at Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Antonieta Banda Pérez, made an academic stay at the Universidad Católica de Santo Toribio de Mogovrejo, in Chiclayo, Peru; where she took the products of her research done on Cultural Care during the Postpartum, part of her formation as a researcher.

During her stay in Peru, Antonieta gave talks about her on-going research and through which she seeks to influence in the determination of public policies of healthcare to consider the cultural features of women in the definition of the postpartum care that must be provided to the newborn and the mother.

For a specialist in Nursing, it is primordial to know the customs and traditions women have in each region of the country about the postpartum care so, based in these cultural beliefs, design care models that allow to diminish illnesses and death due to malpractice on herself and her child. "it is important to go to the field and research what people think, feel, and do to take care of their health and their firstborn, to be in possibilities to dictate congruent and sensitive models of attention", affirms Antonieta.

The doctorate in Nursing Sciences taught at Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, considers making two academic research stays in a foreign university, to submit the thesis to the scrutiny of other researchers and specialists and enrich it from their observations and contributions.

In this case, Antonieta Banda Pérez, because the work she is doing, she spent three months at USAT, where she received the support and accompaniment of Dr. Rosa Jeuna Díaz Manchay, who got her involved in academic activities and related events, with the purpose to strengthen the research she's been doing on cultural care. From now on, the doctorate student will have the support and advice of Dr. Gloria Calixto Olalde, coordinator of the doctorate in Campus and Dr. Díaz Machay from USAT.
