Guanajuato, Gto., September 4, 2018.- With the award of 24 projects of social, business, invention, new products and new services, ended the 13th Creativity and Innovation Contest 2018 of the University of Guanajuato (UG).
In his closing message, Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo, Academic Secretary of the UG, congratulated the winners in all categories, evaluators, academics and advisors for this great achievement, because although 13 years it is said easy, this time speaks of the spirit of a University that wants to be on the frontier of knowledge and has as its fundamental purpose the integral formation of the students, where creativity and innovation are part important.
He also thanked the support of the Secretariat for Innovation, Science and Higher Education (SICES), which has been able to promote these matters; and the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), which has been increasing its commitment and, of course, to the university authorities that have supported the scientific disciplines that today involve all fields of knowledge.
On behalf of Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendon Huerta Barrera, rector of the Guanajuato Campus; M. Gabriel Alejandro Andreu de Riquer, General Coordinator of Academic Development celebrated hosting this important entrepreneurship event, which brought together more than 400 students from the upper and upper middle level.
147 projects located in different categories were registered, and specifically the Guanajuato Campus participated with 48 projects. He recalled that these types of meetings have the purpose of promoting, fostering and developing the talent and entrepreneurial spirit in the student community, contributing at the same time, to give answers to the needs of the social environment.
"In this way, UG as a mature institution and attentive to the evolution of world policies, promotes that not only disciplinary areas are taught, but the bases, elements and orientation that foster among students, innovation and entrepreneurship and transform from simple concepts to a true way of being and living," he concluded.
As special guests to the ceremony, attended the Rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Graciela María de la Luz Ruiz; Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Rector of Campus León; Dr. Antonio Vega Corona, Sub-secretary de Innovation, Science & Higher Education and Dr. Jesús Martínez Patiño, Coordinator of the Ecosystem of Linkage, Innovation, Development and Application of Knowledge (VIDA UG).
Likewise, Lic. Alejandro Raúl Salas Domínguez, head of the regional office of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property; Dr. Armando Gallegos Muñoz, Rector of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca; Dr. J. Merced Rizo Carmona, Director of the High School College; Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendivil, Director of Support for Research and Postgraduate.
