Guanajuato, Gto., September 7, 2018.- The Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG) will be, for the first time, the resident orchestra of the Morelia Music Festival Miguel Bernal Jiménez (FMM) to be held from November 9th to 25th in Michoacán.
Under the baton of its titular director, M. Roberto Beltrán Zavala, the OSUG will direct the inaugural concert on Friday November 9 at the Teatro Morelos at 20:30 hours with a program that highlights the participation of soloist Edmar Castañeda.
The musician took the harp when he was a teenager to play the folk music of his homeland: Bogotá, Colombia; "He has assaulted New York and the world stage with the strength of his virtuous harp command, revolutionizing the way in which the public and critics consider an instrument commonly relegated to the ' unusual category. '"
On November 24th, the orchestra will perform at the Centro Cultural Clavijero at 21:00 hours, led by the M. Roberto Beltrán and accompanied by soloist David Nebel who started playing the violin at the age of five years.
The violinist studied at the Conservatory di Ticino; at the University of Music and Arts of the City of Vienna; And at the University of Music and Performing arts in Graz. Since 2013 he studied with Professor Alexander Gilman, who directed the ensemble LGT Young soloists. He is also a founding member of this string ensemble and is a soloist and accompanist in concert tours in Europe and Asia.
It should be noted that the music festival of Morelia celebrates 30 years "to honor, recognize and disseminate the best of concert music", with a program that embraces the plurality of styles, proposals and genres from the local, national and International.
Sheltered by the motto #MiFestival, from November 9th to 25th, the city of Morelia was emblazed with the presence of interpreters, groups and creators from Germany, Austria, Canada, Colombia, Korea, Cuba, United States, France, Israel, Mexico, United United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Republic of Georgia, Serbia, Switzerland and Ukraine.
With this participation, the OSUG endorses the privileged place that occupies in the musical panorama of Mexico as one of the most prestigious orchestral ensembles in the country and with a solid international projection.
