León, Gto., September 13, 2018.- The city of León will host a large cultural agenda within the framework of the XLVI "Festival Internacional Cervantino" (FIC) which starts on October 9 with the inauguration of the tunnel of memory and tolerance; it is a tubular structure that will have in its interior a tour of the darkest chapters of humanity.
This exhibition, coordinated by the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the Museum of memory and tolerance, can be seen in the streets of the arts of the Cultural Forum Guanajuato common area between UG and this enclosure.
In the same way the seventh art will be present in the Department of Cultural Studies of the Campus León de la UG, with the programming of the already traditional Cinema Tuesday from October 16 to 25 with the cycle called "Looks of the present to understand the future" in collaboration with the national Cineteca. Among the films that can be seen are: "El albergue", "La historia negra del cine mexicano", "No hay lugar lejano", "Burros", "Distancias cortas", among others.
On the other hand, it is noteworthy that five students of the degree in culture and art of Campus León will participate in the Cervantes Brigades whose main objective is to develop field work, according to their academic profile, in the activities and programs of this edition.
The young people will be able to develop documentary diagnoses, audiovisual recordings, design and image creation, advertising campaigns, elaboration of diagnostics, monitoring and evaluation of the programming of this festival.
In press conference, Lic. Marcela Diez Martínez, director of the FIC, accompanied by personalities such as Dr. Arturo Joel Padilla Córdova, General Director of the Cultural Forum Guanajuato; the architect Carlos María Flores Riveira, director of the Cultural Institute of León (ICL); Lic. Laura Lozano Fuentes, Liaison coordinator of UG's Campus León and M. María Elena Macías Correa who is an Integral training assistant at the University of La Salle Bajío, presented the main activities that each of the institutions will have in the largest cultural festival in America.
