Salamanca, Gto. September 18, 2018.- Due to the increasing enrolment in the postgraduate course in mechanical engineering, executives from the University of Guanajuato (UG) gave a new space for the students of the master's degree and the doctorate.

The new mezzanine was developed to provide 42 places for graduate students, who join other spaces distributed in the building of light labs and heavy labs.

The work had a cost of physical infrastructure, voice and data of 1.3 million pesos, also bought the furniture with a cost of 415,000 pesos, said Dr. Elías Rigoberto Ledesma Orozco, Director of the Department of Mechanics, explaining that the work was possible thanks to the support of the Campus Rectory, the Division of Engineering and the department's own revenues.

Currently, 71 students are registered: 48 of master's degree and 23 PhD's, and this week the allocation of spaces will be made so that the students can work on it.

Since the goal of the year 2020 is to have more than 200 graduate students in the engineering division, the university authorities agreed that they should continue working to have the appropriate spaces.

Before students and teachers of the program, Dr. Armando Gallegos Muñoz, Rector of the Irapuato – Salamanca Campus reiterated his willingness to work jointly with the Division Director, Dr. Víctor Ayala Ramírez and with his department directors for Consolidate to this campus.

He informed that the construction of the multidisciplinary building at the Salamanca headquarters it is about to begin, a work that was also expected, given the need for greater spaces for teachers and students.

The mezzanine of the postgraduate course is located on the esplanade of workshops, between the mechanics workshop and the fitness room.
