Guanajuato, Gto., September 18, 2018.- With the work "Óperas, tertulias y serenatas. La vida cotidiana porfiriana y la irrupción revolucionaria en la ciudad de Guanajuato 1876-1940" (Operas, gatherings and serenades. The daily Porfirian life and the revolutionary breakthrough in the city of Guanajuato 1876-1940), Lic. Chárbel Jesús Hernández Fragoso won the National Research Prize Forum Cultural Guanajuato 2018.

Chárbel Jesús Hernández Fragoso holds a degree in history from the University of Guanajuato, where he also studied his master's degree. The award-winning research deals with cultural practices such as theatre, evenings, gatherings and serenades in Guanajuato.

The purpose of doing it was to analyze certain practices during the period 1876-1940, to understand how this social process was – from the Porfiriato to the revolution-"especially since in Guanajuato there are very few studies related to the Mexican Revolution and with cultural practices, "he explained.

According to the call, the National Prize for Research Cultural Forum Guanajuato 2018 is awarded to recognize, disseminate and promote research work that contributes to the knowledge of artistic production in the field of plastic and visual arts and the history of everyday life, in its intimate interrelation with these fields, of the state of Guanajuato.

In the opinion of Lic. Hernández Fragoso, obtaining this recognition has an important meaning and is an "incentive for those who study the degree in history", because this type of research allows us to know social processes that often do not They are present in academic studies or are not so well known to the community.

The research "Óperas, tertulias y serenatas. La vida cotidiana porfiriana y la irrupción revolucionaria en la ciudad de Guanajuato 1876-1940", it was derived from the Bachelor thesis of Chárbel Jesús Hernández, which was directed by Dr. Malú Cueva Tazzer.

The National Research Prize Forum Cultural Guanajuato is awarded by the Cultural Forum Guanajuato through its Museum of art and history.
