Guanajuato, Gto., September 21, 2018.- To disseminate the research projects that are carried out at the undergraduate level, as well as to encourage a taste for scientific work, the 6th State Meeting of Young Researchers was held, an event sponsored by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and organized by the University of Guanajuato (UG).

The event was held at the Poliforum León, where young people from different institutions of higher education in Guanajuato presented the 200 works that were selected for the state phase in the following areas of knowledge: physical mathematics and earth sciences, biology and chemistry, medicine and health sciences, humanities and behavioral sciences; social sciences, biotechnology and agricultural sciences, engineering.

In the opening ceremony the Director of Support for Research and Postgraduate (DAIP), Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendívil, on behalf of the President of the UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, explained that a group of evaluators will select the best projects in each work table, and the first two places will participate in the national meeting of Young researchers, as representatives of the state of Guanajuato.

To the youth he expressed that Mexico has a great capacity of research "Now it is turn to take advantage of it to generate economy".

Likewise, the General Director of the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Irapuato, M. José Ricardo Narváez Ramírez, representing the participating activities, underlined the role of science in building a better country, so he asked young people to reflect on where the research they are going to develop.

Previously, Dr. María Cristina del Rincón Castro, member of the Evaluation Committee of the projects, explained the dynamics of the meeting, which aims to encourage students who attend the last year of the degree, as well as interns who have six months to complete it, so that they can devote themselves to the investigation.

The program of the state meeting of young researchers contemplates oral presentations of the projects, as well as lectures that will address the research opportunities in different areas of knowledge.
