Guanajuato, Gto., September 25, 2018.- The Technical and Administration Committee of the Joint Fund for the Promotion of Scientific and Technological Research CONACYT-Guanajuato State Government approved the allocation of 129,847,009 pesos to projects of the University of Guanajuato destined to the research and technological innovation, which in future will have a great impact on the development and competitiveness of Guanajuato.
These are projects that promote the development of products and technologies related to the "Internet of the Future", the "Internet of Things" and an advanced telecommunications network for research and dissemination of science and technology. The projects are called HIVE-FI (a versatile, highly integrated internet environment of the future), REESATIC (state-of-the-art telecommunications network for the research and dissemination of science and technology in Guanajuato) and IOTEN (Internet of things in Energy).
In fact, the project IOTEN, laboratory-Internet of things in the energy Sector, will have additional resources for the order of 15 million pesos that will be exercised by the Mexican center of Renewable Energies, S. C (CEMER S.C.), in which teachers and students collaborate in the University of Guanajuato. In total the sum of the 3 projects is 144,847,000 pesos.
HIVE-FI Project, a specialized internet unit of the future for the state of Guanajuato
With an approved investment of 59,953,816 pesos, the HIVE-FI project will develop a set of nine laboratories for the creation of technological products and services related to the Internet of the future, as well as 5 spaces of invention distributed in the state of Guanajuato, for students with entrepreneurial spirit. Everything will be a space for interaction between entrepreneurs, companies and researchers to detonate technological innovation.
This project will have the participation of college professors and students, as well as with national and international academic technological allies, among which are researchers of the University of Texas in Dallas, University Paris XIII, as well as entrepreneurs associated with the National Chamber of the Telecommunications and Informatics Industry (CANIETI).
Project IOTEN Laboratory-Internet of things in the Energy sector
The laboratory IOTEN Internet of Things in the energy Sector (Internet of Things, Internet of matters or IoT), will have as objectives the development and technological integration for the efficient and intelligent use of the generation cleanse, unite the industry and academia to boost the productive, economic and social sector of the state of Guanajuato and develop technology and innovation in the productive and energy processes that will come with the economic transformation of the fourth revolution Industrial.
In this regard will create a laboratory for the technological development of the Internet of things applied to the energy sector, to solve problems of efficiency and energy sustainability within the framework of Industry 4.0. The VIDA UG ecosystem is projected to work in collaboration with CEMER S.C. in addition to all the UG campuses and to integrate the high school college (CNMS) and the College University Technicians (TSU).
REESATIC project, state-of-the-art telecommunications network for the research and dissemination of science and technology in Guanajuato
The third project, REESATIC (state-of-the-art telecommunications network for research and dissemination of science and technology in Guanajuato), obtained funding for 69,893,193 pesos, and has as its primary objectives the design and implementation of running an advanced telecommunications network; Collaboration agreements for research and dissemination of science and technology; Digital gap reduction; the internet coverage in six regions of the entity and the interconnection via microwaves between a central node and 16 nodes throughout the state, as well as establishing the operations center of the Advanced Telecommunications Network (NOC).
In this project, the University of Guanajuato would join forces with the Secretaría de Innovación, Ciencia y Educación Superior (SICES); VIDA UG; AGROBIOTEG, Innovation Park; Inter-institutional Energy Center of the University of Guanajuato (CINERGIA UG); Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Irapuato (ITESI); LANGEBIO; CINVESTAV; Centro de Innovación Aplicada en Tecnologías Competitivas (CIATEC); Centro de Investigaciones en Matemáticas (CIMAT); And with the Centre for Research in Optics (CIO).
