-Synchrotron as a diagnostic tool to achieve technological advances
Guanajuato, Gto., September 27, 2018.- The National Synchrotron Forum: An inexhaustible source of competitiveness for Mexico, will be the ideal scenario to discuss the synchrotron as a tool to determine the state that holds various works of art, enhance innovation in the Mexican industry and consequently Mexico's competitiveness.
The event will be held on October 9, 2018, from 8:00 to 11:30 hours, in the Polyforum León, and is organized by Dr. Guadalupe de la Rosa, Dr. Edgar Vázquez, the IIS Roberto Cárdenas Enríquez and Dr. Jesús Carpio Mendoza, professors attached to the Science and engineering division of the León Campus.
This forum is attended by other speakers, Dr. Alejandro Ruelas Gossi, expert in disruptive strategies; Dr. Edward Mitchell, Head of Business Development and Staff Scientist, European Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory; Dr. Brenda Valderrama, Secretary of Innovation, Science and technology of the state of Morelos 2012-2018; Dr. Abel Moreno, General coordinator of the Synchrotron Light Users network; Dr. Guadalupe de la Rosa, expert in nanomaterials; and Dr. Mauro Napsuciale, an expert in accelerator physics.
The participating groups are the synchrotron light users Thematic Network (REDTULS), the state network for the dissemination and teaching of science and Technology (REDECYT), the University of Guanajuato (UG) and Kleverly Thinking Systems SC.
In Mexico, the Synchrotron Light Users network was created with the aim of promoting the shared use of infrastructure of the users, creating joint projects that promote the use of various synchrotrons in the world, supporting and promoting the project of creation of a Mexican synchrotron, to strengthen educational programs that encourage the strengthening of specialized human resources in the area, to promote the exchange of knowledge among the users, as well as to generate a strong linkage with the industry.
On this occasion, they will meet those involved with the industry to let them know the potential of the synchrotrons, to identify how they can benefit their company.
Sectors that can benefit from the use of the synchrotron include: leather-footwear, pharmaceutical, automotive, agri-food, energy, mining, aerospace, among others.
It should be recalled that a synchrotron is a circular particle accelerator that generates a light million times brighter than sunlight, with this light you can see details of the matter that is not possible to see with any other technique, which allows to improve materials to a Extremely fine level.
Moreover, it also serves as a diagnostic tool and to study materials of interest in cultural heritage and in the industry, it allows to achieve technological advances that impact in an exponential way in the competitiveness.
The UG has organized events aimed at the formation of human resources in this area and through Dr. Guadalupe de la Rosa, the University of Guanajuato, has been represented in different activities by the International Atomic Energy Agency with the Objective of promoting the use of synchrotron techniques in developing countries.
