
Activities of the third week of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Research begin at UG
Guanajuato, Gto., October 1, 2018.- The third week of t Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Research, of the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences (DCNE) of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG) began and will be held from October 1st to 6th.
This meeting, as a reminder, is formed by three main activities: the 6th Entrepreneur Forum, the 5th Annual meeting of Students: innovation and Research in the DCNE, and the 4th Innovation Congress.
At the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendon Huerta Barrera, rector of the Campus Guanajuato, observed the participation of students in an effective meeting, "because Mexico must be a country of leaders, not only of employees, and this should be promoted from the universities, which are the thinking centers of society."
In this sense, she expressed a wide recognition to the organizers of this event that seek to promote, encourage and develop the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of students, through initiatives that allow the generation of business ideas and Innovative projects to respond to local, regional, national and international needs, impacting the student's comprehensive training as a form of individual and institutional talent management.
For his part, Dr. Jesús Martínez Patiño, general coordinator of the Ecosystem of Liaison, Innovation, Development and Application of knowledge (VIDA UG) on behalf of the UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero; he celebrated that the University of Guanajuato, with a great vision, has created this ecosystem that positively impacts the projects of the student community.
He recalled that UG, Campus Guanajuato and the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences, have many development options, in addition to VIDA UG that links students with the labor sector and with the two state technological parks, so the competition that is develops in this week of innovation is for the students, essence of UG.
He even mentioned that, for 13 years, a contest of creativity and innovation is held annually at the University of Guanajuato, and in this period 750 projects related to these topics have participated, in which the DCNE has participated quite actively.
Dr. Martínez said that the students of the UG, have enormous opportunities to be competitive and are in the best educational institution statewide, because 56 percent of researchers across the state, are emanating from UG.
Finally, he explained that last year there were 545 teachers in the National System of Researchers (SNI) but last week they reached 590 teachers in this modality, which evidence that the UG is a quality institution, which have an ecosystem that covers In the innovation and entrepreneurship part, and that students are competitive students in all sectors that the industry requires day by day.
Also present at the ceremony, Eng. Eusebio Vega Pérez, Secretary of Innovation, Science and Higher Education (SICES) of the state of Guanajuato, who said in his message that research and development invigorate the growth of industrialized regions, because they are the engine of less economically favored.
It is necessary to form citizens of the world, he said, that there are many more people undertaking, researching and creating high value companies and jobs, that give creative solutions, different and be a real pillar for the state of Guanajuato.
Therefore, he pledged to work collaboratively with institutions of higher education and business sector to generate conditions to turn Guanajuato into a leading innovation entity that reflects better indicators, mainly with those who measure the effectiveness and, finally, expressed a recognition to the UG for promoting these events and for the support it provides to their students with events of transcendence.
It corresponded to Dr. Agustín Ramón Uribe Ramírez, Director of the DCNE, to welcome the present, and emphasized that the role of the universities is fundamental, since they fulfill a social function in the type of professionals who graduate from them, so that in the UG they have introduced Concepts of innovation, entrepreneurship and of course of research, deeply rooted in this division, within its curricula, as part of the integral training of the student in the educational model of this study house.
In the opening ceremony, were also present Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendívil, Director of Support for Research and Postgraduate in UG; Dr. Fernando Israel Gómez Castro, General coordinator of the week; Dr. Jesús Isaac Minchaca Mújica, member of the organizing Committee of the week; professors and students of the division.
