
The International Colloquium "El porvenir del paisaje" begins at UG
Guanajuato, Gto., October 1, 2018.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) is hosting the first edition of the International Colloquium "El porvenir del paisaje", which brings together students, academics and experts interested in architecture and design.
From October 1st to 3rd, in the Marfil venue and the venue Los Santos of the university will be held conferences and roundtables in which specialists analyze topics such as "Paisaje patrimonial" and "Los sentidos del paisaje".
At the opening ceremony, UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino stressed the importance of taking the landscape as an object of study, which contributes to preserve, disseminate and enjoy it.
After welcoming the participants, he told them about the architectural peculiarities of the city of Guanajuato and celebrated the decision to choose the headquarters of the International Meeting.
Previously, the academic secretary of campus Guanajuato, Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez Padilla, representing the rector of the campus, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendon Huerta Barrera explained that this colloquium was created following the approach of professors of the department of architecture with international experts on the theme of the landscape.
She emphasized that in recent years the landscape heritage has gained interest in the international arena, hence the relevance of conducting academic activities that promote the interaction between the community of bachelor's in architecture and design with speakers of international stature.
The event brought together the president of the IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architecture) Americas, Dr. Ricardo Riveros Celis; the Director of the Division of Architecture Art and design, Dr. Francisco Javier González Compean; representatives of the Association of Architects of Guanajuato; participants of the Mexican culture seminar, as well as students and professors interested in the architecture of the landscape.
