
Guanajuato, Gto., October 2, 2018.- With the piece " Sobre el miedo, la música y monedas ", Samuel Muñoz Rodríguez and Ana Karen Espinosa Fonseca, students of the degree in performing arts, and Juan Adrián Preciado Hernandez, student of the degree in music; took the first place and the medal to the best performance in the "Second Interdisciplinary Competition of Performing Arts of the degree in performing arts".
In the "Teatro Principal" the final stage of the contest was held, organized by the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) and the degree in performing arts of the Department of Music and Performing arts of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG).
The second place was for the piece "Deconstrucción 2.1", presented by Perla Vianey Castillo González, student of the degree in performing arts, with the participation of Edgar Iván Arias Palacios, student of the degree in music.
Although there was no third place, the juries recognized the effort and creativity of the piece "Meztli", which was presented by Paolo Marcelo Luna Santos, student of the degree in performing arts, with the participation of Sebastián Jaimes Cortés, Student of the Bachelor's degree in music; David Santiago Martínez González, student of the degree in Visual arts and Manuel Antonio Fonseca Navarro, student of the degree in performing arts.
They presided over this stage of the contest, the Academic Secretary of the DAAD, Dr. María Isabel de Jesús Téllez García, representing Dr. Francisco Javier González Compean, Director of the DAAD; And the Director of the music department, M. Luis Flores Villagómez.
The jury was composed of the outstanding artists: Juan Manuel García Belmonte, prominent playwright and director; Dehesa Gasca, dancer of experimental techniques and Amad Araujo Santoyo, actor and composer of music for the scene and films, who determined the winners of the first and second place awards and best performance.
It should be pointed out that in this event there were two previous stages, when the selection committee, composed of the professors of the degree in Performing Arts, Luz María Loya Orellana, Mauricio Nava García and José Alberto Castañeda Gutiérrez, chose three finalist pieces, who were those who presented themselves in the final: "Deconstruction 2.1", "Meztli" and "on fear, music and coins".
In her message, Dr. María Isabel de Jesús Téllez García, Academic Secretary of the DAAD, said that the realization of the Second Interdisciplinary Arts Competition, full of pride to the institution, since it encourages not only the creation but the promotion of the communication and teamwork, interdisciplinary, since in all the pieces there was collaboration between students of several degrees, among which are outstanding performing arts, music, graphic design and visual arts.
It is important to comment that the objective of these competitions is to encourage the interdisciplinary stage creation, in line with the graduation profile proposed by the undergraduate degree in performing arts, in addition to communication and teamwork among student members of the division.
The first contest was held on September 8, 2017 at the Mesón de San Antonio, and on that date was won the piece " Y sigo cayendo...", by the students José Jaime Juárez Abiña, bachelor of Performing Arts, and Edgar Ivan Arias Palacios , from the bachelor's degree in music; while the award for best interpreter was for Claudia Elena Canchola Urbina, for the piece "Fragmentos de Psicosis de las 4:48".
To reach the final, the pieces go through two previous filters: an administrative review of the documentation to be delivered and a semi-final stage, sanctioned by a selection committee, formed by professors of the degree in performing arts.
This year was held on September 14th on the stage of the building of the arts, and the selection committee was composed of professors Luz María Loya Orellana, Mauricio Nava García and José Alberto Castañeda Gutiérrez; while the final stage is sanctioned by an external jury.
