
León, Gto., October 5, 2018.- The need to reflect the reality in digital media appropriate to the new generations, is the key factor for the University of Guanajuato (UG) Campus León, through the laboratory of Teaching and National Research CONACyT Interpretative Audiovisual Ethnography (LAB ETNOAI), convene the III Globetrotting Festival ETNOAI.
This festival takes place within the framework of World Audiovisual Heritage Day, established by the United Nations educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on October 27 in 2005. For this reason, in a press conference, the program of activities led by Dr. Maricruz Romero Ugalde, professor-researcher of the Department of Social Studies of the León Campus, was presented, creating the ETNOAI Praxis.
This praxis has as main mission "to make the university, live the social transformation in service, i.e. their professional profile living in multidisciplinary groups attending a problematic or a form of cultural manifestation in teams (...) because ETNOAI Praxis combines scientific research and the results remains through cinematic language" commented that "we are the ABC of science and art."
From October 9, talks on the Sahrawi situation will be held by the ambassadors of this area, that same day at 18:00 hours will open the transmedia exhibition "time zero" What do you expect when you wait in the Sahara?, a creation of Ileana Landeros Casillas and Aldo Ruíz from the University of Guadalajara, this work includes photographs in large format, installation, mapping, multimedia intervention and video documentary, so that the spectators will have access to live a multisensory on the way Sahrawi women are presented in the refugee camps of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic experience Republic.
Another activity very typical of this culture is the ceremony of tea in the "tent", which is the traditional house of the desert, a representation that seeks to raise awareness about the relevance of access to water, as well as the "melfa" traditional women clothing of this culture.
On the other hand, there will be storytelling, and the projection of several documentaries as "healing women of the sierra", material that evidences the richness of local knowledge on the biodiversity of rural areas of the municipality of Tierra Blanca to cure sufferings and another work entitled "the delight of astonishment" that shows the realities and customs of a journey made to Jerusalem.
In the same way, the materials presented and awarded at the 14th Festival of indigenous film and video will be exhibited in the House of the youth headquarters of May 10, an instance ascribed to the Municipal Institute of the Youth of León, this activity has as main purpose To raise awareness among young people about indigenous issues in the country, which will be held in the week from October 15 to 19.
As assistants to the press conference were Dr. Ileana Landeros Casillas from the Universidad de Guadalajara and author of the exhibition "Tiempo Cero"; Lic. Jovana Sixtos González, Coordinator of the degree in Social Anthropology of Campus León of UG; Dr. Carlota Meneses Sánchez, Professor-researcher of the Department of Cultural Studies of the same campus and who would serve together with students of culture and art as curator of the exhibition; the engineer Carlos Hernández Guerrero, Director of Cultural Management "Casa Azul"; the Eng. Alfredo Mozqueda, Liaison the Northeastern Interdisciplinary center of the University of Guanajuato; Lic. Misraim Macías Cervantes, General Director of the Municipal Youth Institute of León and Christian Vilches- Lizardi, Director of The Kino Cultural Center.
