Guanajuato, Gto., October 8, 2018.- With the participation of its emblematic artistic groups, exhibitions, academic activities and film cycles, the University of Guanajuato (UG) joins the XLVI edition of the International Cervantino Festival (FIC) which will take place from October 10th to 28th.

In this way, the University of Guanajuato reaffirms itself as the most important educational and cultural project in the State.

On this occasion, 25 university spaces will host events to be developed at the holiday of the spirit that this year has as a thematic axis "the future is today" and as a country and state invited to India and Aguascalientes, respectively.

Special mention deserves the university theatre whose tradition was born the Festival, which will have 8 functions of the works: "Retabillo Jovial", "two Men in the mine" and "hors d'oeuvres cervantine". While the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG), will offer two programs under the baton of its Titular Director, Mtro. Roberto Beltrán Zavala, in which they will play the renowned composers Lutoslawski and Shostakovich.

The folkloric Ballet of the UG (BAFUG) will vibrate the spectators with "mestizo blood, our third root" program that will present in the Alhóndiga of Granaditas. The Cine Club will feature 7 film cycles, 46 functions and 7 commented Projections.

It is noteworthy that, again, the arts company of the Campus Guanajuato, formed by university students, is part of the programming of the FIC, Marco in which they will present opera lounge "after paradise".

The art spaces of the university will host 5 artistic exhibitions and carry out 2 academic activities. Some of the exhibitions that will be presented are the following: "weaving the Memory. Textiles of India "," scene obscure of HR Giger, the genius of the future "," Biosignes. A not-so-natural story, among others.

It is important to mention that the XLVI edition of the festival integrates 195 shows, with a total of 327 functions distributed in Opera and vocal music, music, dance, theatre, street shows, exhibitions and academic activities, represented by 110 artistic groups from 34 countries.
