Guanajuato, Gto., October 9, 2018.- With an outstanding participation of its student community, the University of Guanajuato (UG) hosted the sixth edition of Expo-sciences Guanajuato, a state competition in which the official elimination for the national Expo-sciences 2018 that will be held in Morelia, Michoacán, and the international Expo-sciences 2019 to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

In this edition, the venue was the Salvatierra HS, in which 102 projects were registered, of which only 88 were finalists; the projects competed to gain accreditation to international and national events: one to International Expo-sciences and two to Infomatrix South America, 10 accreditations to National Expo-sciences and 15 accreditations to Continental Infomatrix.

The following results were obtained: for HS Salvatierra with the project "Painting science", formed by the students Hannia Yatzil Ramírez Gutiérrez, Ziania Yairet Guzmán González and Julia Paula Serrato Fuentes, being advisor M. Guillermo Caballero Tinajero, achieved third place Platinum Infomatrix, with a pass to South America 2019, in Quito, Ecuador.

The project "Experimental anatomy", of HS Guanajuato, with the advice of the Dra. Claudia Érika Morales Hernández, who obtained second place Platinum Infomatrix, with a pass to South America 2019, in Quito, Ecuador.

With a direct pass to the National Expo-sciences to be held in December in Morelia, there are the participating projects of the HS Salvatierra, HS Guanajuato, HS Centro Histórico León, with gold medal. And with a direct pass to International Infomatrix in Guadalajara, Jal., which will be held next year. The teams of the HS Salvatierra, Pénjamo, Guanajuato and Centro Histórico León won gold medals.

In this way the students of the high schools of UG continue to reap medals in this competition and hope to have a good result in the competitions that obtained the pass to raise the state and the University of Guanajuato.

It is worth mentioning that this event is carried out thanks to the Latin American Society of Science and Technology (SOLACyT) in coordination with the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the High School College (CNMS) through HS Salvatierra, with the participation of the National Network of Youth Activities in science and Technology (La RED), Code Science and with the support of the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt), and the Iberoamerican Science Organization.
