
Guanajuato, Gto., October 15, 2018.- "Responsabilidades y Violencias. Necesidad de una Política Preventiva orientada a los hombres", is the title of the book presented past Friday, from the author Dr. Ricardo Rodríguez Luna, Academic Secretary of the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG) of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG).
The author remarked that the purpose of the text is to inquire in the link there are in the preventive policies and gender studies, reflections that after reviewing different laws and government programs of the country and the state of Guanajuato.
He said that his text has the topics of the prevention of crime and the male gender and those public policies, measures, strategies, actions oriented specifically to men, and particularly the young ones, who are the main victims of violence, accidents, suicides and are generators of violence.
The first commentator of the book, M. Adriana de Santiago Álvarez, UG's General Comptroller, congratulated Dr. Rodríguez for his magnificent work and she invited to read it because its thoroughness, excellence and knowledge in the matter.
She assured that the text will be consulted for every decision made under her leadership as public servant in the University of Guanajuato, because there is destined work, such as this, to be in the desk of who oversee designing public policies and budget programs.
This book was published by one of the most prestigious publishers in the academic field: Tirant Lo Blanch with the novelty of the ebook. It contains 165 pages, of which 15 are of bibliography, for those who appreciate the same, will realize the great critical support that gives sustenance to the work.
It is composed of the introduction, three chapters and concluding commentaries, the first chapter deals with the subject of crime, criminal and prevention, conceptual transformations; the second talks about the prevention of violence and gender in Mexico, and the third has to do with the responsibility of masculinities and violence.
The second commentator, Dr. Iris Rocío Santillán Ramírez, is a professor-researcher at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Doctor of Criminal Sciences and penal policy, lawyer and feminist criminologist. She highlighted the 442 citations and footnotes of the text, which indicate said, that we are facing a rigorous and well-documented research work.
It's a book that should read those interested in criminology, victimology, gender studies, criminal policy and especially by those who formulate public policies aimed at preventing violence, said the professor.
