Celaya, Gto., October 16, 2018.- Researchers from the Universidad de la República de Uruguay, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Guanajuato (UG), met at the Salvatierra venue to develop a study of the models of high-level education of both countries.
They were greeted by the rector of Campus, Dr. Graciela Ma. de la Luz Ruiz Aguilar, who mentioned the interest that the University of Guanajuato has for promoting the integration and linkage of the two educational levels in a single block-the upper middle level and the upper level-which was established in the recent harmonization that was made of the regulations governing the institutional life. "It was a process of recognizing us, as part of a whole," she said.
The Rector emphasized the relationship with the high school (ENMS) of Salvatierra for more than 21 years and the importance of starting with a research seminar of studies in the high education in Mexico-Uruguay. She also thanked Uruguayan professionals and Dr. Marcos Jacobo Estrada Ruiz of the Guanajuato Campus for providing an external vision and experience in the field of research, "both elements are combined in a perfect way to help consolidate a university looking to the future."
The students who will participate in the elaboration of the study, asked them to contribute their talents in the management of the technologies, the search of the information and their different way of doing things for, together with their professors, to contribute to the design of new strategies of teaching and creative methodologies so that their learning in the classroom becomes a stimulating experience. "Teachers have to generate meaningful experiences and learning, to bring about changes that not only impact their education, but also make them resilient and capable of facing challenges."
Prof. María del Refugio Quintana Sánchez, director of the ENMS de Salvatierra, expressed her willingness and openness to share with the researchers the practices that have worked and that have been considered and evaluated to achieve certification as an institution of quality.
For his part, Dr. Estrada Ruiz celebrated the triple link that is established from this project between the universities of Mexico and Uruguay, the Campus Celaya-Salvatierra and Guanajuato and the high and higher levels.
He explained how they will be working during the 5 days of stay of the Uruguayan professors. It will begin with a seminar on complexity and qualitative research strategies aimed at students participating in the study and taught by Uruguayan Professor Natalia Bisio and the research seminar "Middle Education in Uruguay-Mexico", Academic activity that will consist in analyzing the educational indicators of both countries to integrate the study.
These two lines of work are part of an extensive research study with which it is hoped to generate relevant knowledge for the future of education in the country, to succeed in reversing indicators such as dropout and reprobation and finally, to contribute to the training of students who impact on the solution of these problems.
