Guanajuato, Gto., November 1, 2018.- The Oral Litigation Team of the University of Guanajuato (UG) outstood in the National University contest of Penal litigation, which took place in Rosario, Argentina, where it advanced to the semifinal stage.

In the tenth edition of the contest participated 35 teams from three countries, Mexico, Peru and Argentina. The competition took place for three days, from October 30 to November 1. The elimination round consisted of three hearings, one every day, explained the team advisor of the University of Guanajuato, Mtro. Juan Carlos Páramo.

In the elimination round they got the first international place, in which they obtained the highest score among the teams of the three countries. They later went on to the semi-final stage, in which the UG team faced the Mexican juristic college.

By UG, the participants were Nadia Janet Hernández Guerrero, Alondra Guadalupe Elizarraras Medel, Daniela Jacqueline Vázquez Ojeda, Jorge Alfredo Ramírez Ibarra, Arath Samuel Eli Vargas, Javier Alejandro Suárez paredes y José Rafael, Arellano Munitiz, with their advisor, M. Páramo Vázquez.

This is the fourth time that the Oral litigation team of UG participates in the National University contest of criminal litigation; In 2014 they even converted La UG into the first foreign institution to win the competition.

Since its beginning, approximately nine years ago, the Oral litigation team has been an example of academic quality winning nationally and internationally.

The event is organized by the Institute of Compared Studies in Criminal and Social Sciences of Argentina (INECIP), which this time took place in the city of Rosario, Argentina.

The contest is carried out with the purpose of promoting the dynamics of litigation of an oral system, training in matters of adversarial and strategic litigation and promoting reforms of university curricula.
