
León, Gto., October 26, 2018.- Recognizing and disseminating the Mexican linguistic diversity, as well as highlighting the importance of pre-Hispanic literature were the main aspects that were addressed in the first "Day of literature in Mexican indigenous languages, past and present" that It took place in Campus León of the University of Guanajuato (UG).
In the day experts participated from Campus Léon, Escuela Nacional de Estudios Superiores de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) Unit Morelia, Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Escritores en Lenguas Indígenas A.C, in which the central point was the Mexican indigenous literature, its multicultural richness and the importance that is given to the processes of reading and writing in Mexico and other countries.
The creative capacity and aesthetics of Nahuatl poetry were highlighted, the origin of these songs, as well as the challenges and barriers that writers must overcome to make their work known, to obtain recognition of their work and the initiatives that must be generated to strengthen the cultural identity and revaluing the Mexican indigenous languages among which are recognized 11 families linguistic ¬ features, 68 languages and 364 variants.
In an interview, Dr. Felipe "Castillo", a researcher affiliated with the Department of Cultural Studies of the UG, commented that the diversity of these languages cannot be known because they form a structure of cultures that help to understand the importance of linguistic differences, he added that "we are in a Mexican context where indigenous peoples and languages have been systematically discriminated against and the tendency has been to eradicate cultural diversity."
In this sense he explained that there is little research work done on these issues and considered of transcendence to address these manifestations, motivate the reflection and generate actions aimed at promoting the reading of indigenous languages and their preservation.
As part of the activities The Conference "the literary value in Nahua chants of pre-Hispanic origin" was given by Julián Saldierna Rangel, followed by the exhibition by Ignacio Silvia Cruz titled "The Enunciative Moments of the Huehuetlahtolli: The Rites of Passage. "
Later intervened Citlalli Byardi Landeros, Pilar Máynez and Azucena Alfaro Peña, all researchers of the Faculty of Higher Studies Acatlán of UNAM and Dr. Felipe Canuto and Apolonio Bartolo Castillo.
This event was organized by the academic body actors and emerging dynamics of the Campus León of the University of Guanajuato.
