León, Gto., November 14, 2018.- With the purpose to promote the responsible care of water took place the "Third Forum of Experiences of Juvenile Brigades of Water Culture in High School" with the support of the State's Commission of Water (CEAG), and the National Commission of Water (CONAGUA).
It is worthy to mention that in June, an agreement between the University of Guanajuato (UG) and CEAG was signed through which it is planned to strengthen the liaison projects and programs, training workshops, academic events, support for research and social service practices among other lines of collaboration in topics that ponder the social, economic and institutional importance of water culture; so this event adds to the activities held as part of the agreement.
With the participation of 130 students who form the brigades, the event was held in the facilities of HS León. At the opening, the Substitute Director of the school, M. Dalila Abella Camarena García welcomed the participants and mentioned that every semester, more students join the project that seeks to generate awareness between the students about the responsible use of water.
The State of Guanajuato, with a population of 5,384,000 inhabitants, is in a problem of water supply, since there is industrial pollution and the aquifers are overexploited, because of this it is necessary to carry out actions Directed to the care of the water, and sample of this is this event, mentioned the director.
On his behalf, Lic. Juan Gabriel Segovia Estrada, General Director of Social Management, representing the Eng. Angélica Casillas Martínez, CEAG's General Director mentioned that the consolidation of the project and collaborative work is the result of the sum of efforts and the actions that the high schools develop since 2016 which have become a national and state referent in the responsible use of water.
Also, he exhorted all attendees to reflect by remembering the crisis in Cape South Africa where "Day Zero" came and they had to survive with 50 to 87 liters of water by day, until they reached the situation to survive with 30lts a day. Whereas in the State of Guanajuato we use 168lts of water per day per person in average, hence the importance to strengthen these actions.
CEAG's representative congratulated the students for the important task they carry out since it has had a great impact nationally, a sample of that is the project of the Prof. Diego Armando Nicasio Tovar called "Acuaduco", a didactic material which will be spread nationally.
The Director of the High School College (CNMS), Dr. J. Merced Rizo Carmona inaugurated the events of this third forum and recognized the work of professors and students involved in integrating the juvenile brigades of water culture. Also, he thanked the mentioned institutions for their support, as well as to the Division of Engineering for the accompaniment in achieving these results.
Finally, he mentioned that they'll continue making strategies to take care of the environment and invited the youth to continue encouraging the humanized and rational use of water.

This event is part of the activities with which the UG stands its ground on the commitment to the topic of environment and sustainability.
