Guanajuato, Gto., November 16, 2018.- Professors of the High School of the University of Guanajuato (UG) participated in the Latin American Conference about school dropout (VIII-CLABES), in Panama.

The main objective of this congress is to gather professors, educational authorities and students, fundamentally from Latin American countries, concerned about aspects related with the general quality of teaching, particularly school dropout.

The event is considered as an encounter point to analyze the factors associated with dropout, their individual and social effects, as well as to define the possible policies that can be adopted –in all levels of responsibility—to contribute the permanence and graduation of the students.

The high school professors had a nurtured and active participation at the event. Raquel Castro Soriano and Martha Patricia Sandoval Anguiano contributed with the lecture: “Institutional scholarships in UG’s high school, strategy against school dropout.”

While Diego Armando Nicasio Tovar and Berta Lucía Robledo Muñoz presented “Evaluation in teaching Chemistry, a teaching experience from the didactic learning model based on problems that transform our attitudes towards life”.

“Perspectives of the high school students regarding the terminal efficiency and desertion. First approach.” was the lecture given by Carlos Alfonso Curiel Peña and Martín Aram Omar Guerrero Calderón.

Rolando Ramos Reyes and Edna Edith Betancourt Chávez participated with “Towards the development of the artistic education in high school. Case Bajío Zone, Guanajuato, México.”

Likewise, participating by showing a poster: José Emigdio Frausto Macías, Luis David Valadez Ponce, Verónica Aguilar Vargas, Liliana Fabiola Ponce Castro, Ma. Eugenia Ibarra Rodríguez, Ingrid Gisela Del Rocío Campos Ramírez and J Jesus Cervantes Segoviano who addressed the topic “Influence of tutoring in the teacher-student binomial to avoid school dropout.”
