Guanajuato, Gto., November 22, 2018.- The faces that have left their mark in the city of Guanajuato, emblematic characters in areas such as art, culture and letters, compiled by the M. Pedro Vázquez Nieto constitute the book "Habitar el espejo. El paisaje humano de Guanajuato", which was presented at the Palace of Powers.
M. Vázquez Nieto has told that at the age of 10 his uncle gave him a camera and so began his passion for photography, recalled the President of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, who celebrated this facet of who was his teacher.
As Director and teacher at the then law school, the M. Pedro Vázquez Nieto was kind, pleasant and generous with the students, then I was able to know his greatness as a human being, and later, his artistic talent, said Dr. Guerrero.
For his part, M. Vázquez Nieto expressed his gratitude to those who made this book possible by supporting the publication or by accessing it. The work, he said, is an effort to consign "the human geography of the city, the richness of expression of the inhabitants of La Cañada".
He recognized that the portrait is a challenge that leads them to make a study of the personality of the portrayed, "to be able to consign beyond the epidermis", and ruled that it is the duty of an artist to make his utmost effort to honor himself and honor his art.
The event was attended by the General Director of the State Institute of Culture (IEC), Lic. Adriana Camarena de Obeso, who was honored to participate in the presentation of this "wonderful work", which is the product of several years of work M. Vazquez Nieto.
Also attended by the editor and cultural manager, Mauricio Vázquez González, who referred to the content of the work, which portrays "an internal script" of characters of Guanajuato that we all recognize, like the M. Jesús Gallardo and writer Maria Luisa "La China" Mendoza.
