Guanajuato, Gto., November 21, 2018.- "Ibargüengoitia's Imaginarium" is a staging of the arts company of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG) in which students from the Department of Music and Performing arts participate in, as well as from the Visual Arts Department and a creative and logistical team.
The arts company of Campus Guanajuato was created with the purpose that the diverse talents that integrate the UG's student community to join forces to make multidisciplinary artistic proposals.
On this occasion, "Ibargüengoitia's Imaginarium" was presented in the Teatro Principal, a work inspired by the children's tales of Jorge Ibargüengoitia, is an example of the work of a company that is committed to open a new panorama in the performing arts of Guanajuato.
The show shows a series of artistic disciplines such as theater, dance, music and multimedia and presents seven children's stories of the writer Guanajuato. In each story they made a different montage, some included a narrator who was telling the story with actors mimicking, in others shone audiovisual production, there were stories that were counted only with dance and each of the representations was Accompanied by music.
It should be noted that students of the Department of Music wrote the works for each story: Julio Aguayo wrote the music for "Los puercos de Nicolás Mangana"; Roberto de León for "Rigoberto entre las ranas"; Gabriela Castillo for "El ratón de supermercado y sus primos del campo"; Mariana Reséndes for "El cometa Francilló"; and Diana de Dios for "Paletón y el elefante musical".
In order to make the compositions the students researched and coordinated work together with dancers and actors to write the music of "Ibargüengoitia Imaginarium".
There was also a special work of wardrobe and make-up, scenography and lighting. This collective work unites more than 70 artists and is proof that the Guanajuato Campus Arts Company is building a unique platform for creating and disseminating various artistic disciplines.
