Irapuato, Gto., December 1, 2018.- High School Celaya received the State Prize for Energy Efficiency 2018 granted by the Department of Innovation, Science and Higher Education, together with the Technical Department of the State Council of Energy, the Federal Commission of Electricity and the Savings Trust for Electrical Power.
This distinction is aimed at the strategic management, maintenance and implementation of energy saving and efficiency measures, as well as the use of renewable energies to contribute directly to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from the consumption of electricity and the decrease in current expenditures of the State in energy matters.
For the school this distinctive was obtained thanks to the support of its community: professors, students, administrative personnel, and university authorities that has put a bit of sand in saving energy.
It is the result of the sum of efforts commented the director of CNMS J. Merced Rizo Carmona to the director of the school Lic. Raúl Rosillo and took the advantage to let the school community know that this recognition is thanks to the effort of each one of them.
This result was also thanks to the support of the Directorate of Infrastructure and University services of the University of Guanajuato and the work team of the M. Eloy Juarez that along with the MAP. Haide Martínez Saucedo and staff of the HS performed a diagnosis in which they detected that more electricity was being consumed than usual.
Derivative of the above, actions were carried out to reduce costs and energy consumption; The result was so positive that the school received an invitation to participate in this call in the " E category". This is the first time that a HS is recognized in this field since the award is given (2009).
It is now intended to implement actions in the other high schools to contribute to the care of the environment, as well as to reduce the energy costs commented of Dr. Rizo Carmona, for which they will work with personnel of the Direction of Infrastructure.
