Guanajuato, Gto., November 30, 2018.- With the intention of raising awareness to the university community and the general public about social responsibility, the International Seminar on Social responsibility organized by the degree in quality management and productivity, the academic body of quality organization and management and the Department of Strengthening for the student of the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences of the University of Guanajuato was carried out.

The event was attended by prominent Colombian teacher Oscar José Cáceres Rincón, a consultant in quality management for Latin America, who gave the conference "ISO 14001 for Social responsibility".

Later, the public-mostly formed by enthusiastic students-was able to hear the conference "Zoey, a company with social responsibility" of the also Colombian Jorge William Correa Monroy, consultant in social responsibility, presenting an organizational case of entrepreneurship and corporate Social responsibility in which the main contribution is the awareness of the entrepreneur's ethics to work responsibly with the stake holders, inviting the students to replicate organizational examples like this one, in the short, medium and long term.

The second academic block of this seminar is the result of the collaborative work of the students of the 5th. Semester of the degree in quality management and productivity who presented the "Blog of Social Responsibility", product of learning located in the learning unit of the same name, taught by Dr. Cecilia Ramos Estrada.

Dr. Ramos Estrada shared in an interview that "this seminar aims to give students the view of how to manage social responsibility within organizations and, in addition, socio-environmental responsibility, which, in that sense, implies a Social responsibility towards people, and a part of responsibility for the environment. "

The space served as a framework for reflecting on social responsibility understood as an integration into everyday life in the knowledge to be responsible through the consequences of each of our actions; either to other people or the environment. Result of this work was created the website http://www.ugto.mx/actuaresponsable/ which houses collaborations around this topic of the students involved.

The event included the presence of the M. Josefina Ortíz Medel, head of the University Social Responsibility unit of the UG; M. Velino Esteves Jiménez, liaison of the Division of Economic Sciences of Campus Guanajuato and full-time professor, member of the academic body of Artificial Intelligence; M. Judith Marisol Rincón Ávila, coordinator of the degree in quality management and productivity and part-time professor at the Department of Organizational studies, and Dr. Cecilia Ramos Estrada, head of the Quality Management Unit of our university and member of the academic body of organization and quality management.
