Celaya, Gto., December 3, 2018.- In the Sixth Research Congress of Nursing students, Dr. Gloria Calixto, coordinator of the doctorate in nursing, settled that the development and growth in this discipline cannot be given without the linkage with the research, because the Nurses resort to products emanating from research work.

Therefore, it is welcomed by the numerous projects in which students of this career are working and whose results were put to the consideration of the teachers who make up the academic bodies "Healthy lifestyles and Chronicity" and "Care at the End of life".

As part of the conference, exchange students from the Universidad Juarez Autónoma de Tabasco presented their projects on "social representations of old age in high school adolescents" and "nursing interventions".

Similarly, a group of students showed on the poster the research protocols in which they will initiate the work of search of knowledge and that have as a principle to contribute to the solution of problems associated to the practice in nursing and care of the Patients who have reached the end of their life cycle.

The students showed both qualitative, correlation and experimental studies. However, María Mercedes Moreno, coordinator of the event, underlined the lack of a research program that pays to practice based not only on intuition, to solve clinical cases in which the endogenous agents are not considered and exogenous that can give different results in a similar case.

At this point, she quoted the University of Massachusetts researcher, Jacqueline Fawcett, who considers that in view of the complexity of the subjects studied, research programs should be carried out that begin with qualitative and descriptive studies designed to understand people's experiences in terms of health-related conditions, and then move towards correlation studies between the experiences related to the topic and the factors influencing those experiences, and only thus Move on to experimental studies of evidence of the effects of interventions on outcomes that reflect an improvement in health-related experiences.

However, Mercedes Moreno noted that the type of study will depend on the needs, taking it to the stage where it is needed, to help solve the problem with best practices in nursing. The more taste and knowledge we generate on scientific research, the students themselves will be paying the work that is done from the academic bodies, she said.
