
Guanajuato, Gto., December 6, 2018.- The Ministry of Education of the State of Guanajuato recognized students in national competitions during 2018, of which seven students from UG's high school were recognized.
Out of a total of 31 students who were recognized by the state seven belong to the high school (ENMS) of Celaya, Irapuato and Centro Histórico León, talented young people who gained significant achievements this year by obtaining medals in math and physics and that will represent the state in the 2019 Chemistry Olympiad.
During the ceremony, M. José Abel Arteaga Sánchez Sub-Secretary for Educational Development, congratulated the youth for having represented the state of Guanajuato and the results obtained, also commented that this is the result of work, the sum of efforts of all who participate.
He mentioned that since 2013 Guanajuato has had an outstanding participation in the Olympics in chemistry, mathematics, physics and informatics and have put the state as a benchmark of quality at the national level and in some cases at international level.
For her part, Dr. Yoloxochitl Bustamante Diez, Secretary of Education of Guanajuato expressed to the outstanding students her congratulations and thanked the professors, delegates and parents who make the work fruitful. In addition, she extended the congratulations of the Governor of the state, Diego Sinhué Rodríguez Vallejo and the gratitude for putting high the entity, which, he said, is worthy of pride.
The recognized students were: Raúl Alejandro Castro Borja from HS Irapuato; Cesar Fabián Escareño Ramírez, Eduardo Alejandro Guzmán Cuevas, Hugo Martínez Vega from HS Centro Histórico León; José Antonio Sandoval Mendoza from HS Celaya. All of them are part of the delegation that will represent the state in the National Chemistry Olympiad 2019 having Guanajuato as headquarters.
Also recognized: Natalia Jasso Vera from HS Centro Histórico León who got bronze medal in the Math Olympics & Uriel Alessandro Barajas Sánchez from HS Centro Histórico León, who received honorable mention in the Physics Olympiad.
The young people thanked the State authorities for doing this type of ceremony as it encourages them to continue their efforts. During the event they were accompanied by the directors of their schools, M. Raquel Castro Soriano Director of HS Irapuato, M. María Eugenia Ibarra Rodríguez of HS Centro Histórico León and M. Raúl Rosillo of HS Celaya, as well as Dr. J. Merced Rizo Carmona and Dr. Jesús Raúl Lugo Martínez, Director and Academic Secretary of the High School College (CNMS) and Dr. Sergio Silva Muñoz Academic Secretary of the UG on behalf of Dr. Luis Felipe and Guerrero Agripino, President.
It is worth mentioning that the escort of the ENMS of Pénjamo took part in the civic event, the students of the escort have participated in regional and state events obtaining an outstanding performance.
