Celaya, Gto. December 5, 2018.- Fernando Gómez Guerrero, student of the Campus Celaya-Salvatierra of the University of Guanajuato, was appointed president of the National Association of Civil Engineering Students (ANEIC) Mexico within the framework of the National Congress of Civil Engineering Students that was held in the city of Guaymas, Sonora.

During the assembly held before the conclusion of the Congress, delegates from 50 universities in the country belonging to the ANEIC, gave their vote in favor of Fernando Gómez to represent them in the period 2019-2020.

In giving his first impressions after being elected by his companions, Fernando said that in his work plan will seek to position the association as a national benchmark for the high impact of its activities, in addition to unifying all groups with the same Cause to achieve a fundamental transformation in our country.

He exalted the union between the students gathered in this association and trusted that together they will be able to carry out an agenda that also benefits their educational institutions of origin.

Currently, the Association of Civil Engineers has a presence in 81 higher education institutions nationwide, with 85 delegates and more than 42,000 affiliated students. For Fernando the appointment is very significant because he sees in him the opportunity to be able to design, along with the rest of his companions, strategies to become a factor of transformation in the cultural, academic, technical, social, economic and civic fields of the student community of their respective houses of studies.

His protest as president-elect of the XXXV National Direction Committee of ANEIC Mexico, will be on 21 February next year in the city of Queretaro, where he will present his work team.

As part of this twenty-seventh National Congress held at the Institute of Technology in Guaymas, students visited the Integral Port Administration and companies in the region, as well as participating in academic activities such as the forums "the role of Women in the global competition" and "innovations in the concrete industry".
