León, Gto., December 7, 2018.- In order to reflect on the relationship between art and crafts, the disciplinary, thematic and methodological crosses that exist in this duality, academicians of the University of Guanajuato (UG) Campus León, carried out the third Journeys of the academic body "Culture and Art" focused on pedagogy and creative processes.

The dynamics of these workshops were composed of working groups in three thematic areas: pedagogy of art, which analyzed some methodologies for teaching art in non-formal contexts; The second axis is the one related to knowledge and pedagogy of the artisan world, in which specialists were invited to talk about how they are taught and how they are transmitted the knowledge of the artisan world by the same craftsmen and of institutions recognized by teaching trades or techniques as it is the case of the Houses of culture.

In the third axis, on art, handicrafts and creative processes, were presented the disciplinary crosses of art and craftsmanship, in this axis was created a table in which designers and artists took part in some form of artisanal techniques that they move to the artistic world, crossing the line between these two disciplines.

In the same way an academic exhibition of the work carried out by students of culture and art was exhibited on which Dr. Vanessa Freitag, member of the organizing committee of this event, commented that this exhibition allows "the students to reflect on different personal circumstances or issues of social importance and that can be reflected through not only a text but an object created by themselves, that they can be aware that they can also be creators."

This academic event is the result of a project financed in the interinstitutional call for scientific research 2018 de la UG entitled "Crafts of everyday life", this study sought to meet people who believe and dedicate to different Crafts, specifically women who weave, sew or embroider in various modalities and reasons, even as a healing.

This group of study was formed by 10 women, eight from the city of León and two of Guanajuato, even they were invited to participate in an exhibition in the month of September of this year.

The academic body in consolidation of "Culture and Art" is responsible for the activities and is composed of the doctors Vanessa Freitag, María Guadalupe Aguilar Salmerón, María Eugenia Rabadán, Dr. Tarik Torres Mojica, all of them belonging to the Department of Cultural Studies and Dr. Francisco Javier González Compean, Director of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design of the Campus Guanajuato.
