Guanajuato, Gto., December 21, 2018.- Regina Mercado Calderón is a student of the law degree at the University of Guanajuato and is one of the main drivers of "Gentileza" a civil association in which she serves as director and co-founder.

"Gentileza" is a civil association in Guanajuato with national and international representation through the "My World Mexico" initiative of the Action Campaign for the objectives of sustainable development, with the purpose of collaborating, advising and carrying out activities To the recognition, dissemination, promotion and fulfillment of the Agenda 2030 for the sustainable development of the United Nations Organization (UN) in Guanajuato and Mexico.

Regina Mercado mentioned that "Gentileza" is an organization "in which graduates, and students are working from different public and private universities of the state and other entities. We focus on the creation and advice of projects and programs aligned with one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) of the UN Agenda 2030.

The student of the University of Guanajuato explained that "Gentileza" arises both the problem of the lack of citizen participation collectively in the entity, and the lack of follow-up to the Agenda 2030 in the state.

"We are currently carrying out two projects: "Culture of sustainable mobility", which is a series of proposals made to the city of Guanajuato to improve the public transport service; and "Goodbye plastic", a series of proposals made to the Congress of Guanajuato to join the renunciation of the culture of waste by single-use urban solids. "

Similarly, in "Gentileza" has other programs made as "Democríticos", "PlantiPET", "Canine Eaters", among others. They also collaborate with the University of Guanajuato in the program "citizenship" and have continued collaboration with other civil associations of the state.

Finally, Regina Mercado distinguished that "the environment, quality education, economic and social development in cities, gender equity and the improvement of institutions, are transcendent objectives that can only be achieved through a Joint work, free of prominence, politicization, personal interests and other vices. "

She emphasized that civil associations are working together, generating innovation, carrying voices of demands, and have the virtue of encouraging teamwork. Therefore, making alliances is essential for the dynamism and social development of any population.
