Guanajuato, Gto., December 17, 2018.- Regarding international Migrants Day, Dr. Miguel Vilches Hinojosa, research professor of the Department of Political Studies and Government in the Division of Law, Politics and Government and Academic Coordinator of the Master in political analysis urged the need to recognize the importance of the 120-year history of migration in Guanajuato, in which people of the state have migrated mainly to the United States and to a lesser extent to Canada.
In an interview, he noted that in Mexico is a complex migratory dynamic, not only are migrants who go, migrants who travel through Guanajuato from other countries like Central America, but also foreign people who come to live in the state from eastern countries like Japan, Korea and China.
He recalled that international migration is a phenomenon that has been intensifying throughout the history of humanity also in media terms, but migrating means "change of residence habitually where one develops his life, means that we We move for a lapse of time from one place to another with the idea of staying in the new place and making life on that site. "
On international migration We talk about crossing national borders, changing from one country to another country for a substantial period of time but which may be subject to some restrictions, so we talk about international migration that is undocumented, undocumented or Irregular, depending on the country where they go, but have the authorization to remain in that country as it may fall into a lack of immigration laws.
He noted that the United Nations General Assembly elected December 18 to commemorate the International Day of Migrants and just the commemoration is intended to point out outstanding issues that the international community has not solved, has just the intention to sensitize and raise awareness among individuals of all nations that there is an outstanding subject for all countries that is an international migration.
He indicated what is through the media that the situation of international migration is disseminated and that there are currently estimated to be 250 million of international migrants across the planet and has been growing at an accelerated rate and will continue to grow, the university task and the media means to generate a reflection around us as citizens.
Finally, he invited to think about the issue of international migration, to participate in the rights of migrants, said that as university students can originate opinion and transmit ideas of solidarity, respect and inclusion for migrants, always respecting the law and human rights.
It is important to note that, with the objective of analyzing the migratory phenomenon in the municipality of Guanajuato, the University of Guanajuato (UG) carries out a research work focused on the diagnosis for the elaboration of programs and migratory public policies.
The research work is titled " Care Program for adolescent migrants" and is carried out in collaboration with the executive secretariat of the Integral system of protection for Children and Adolescents (SIPINNA) of Guanajuato and is coordinated by Dr. Román Armando Pérez López, professor of the Department of Political Studies and government of the Guanajuato campus and by students of the degree in political science and of the Master in political analysis of the same campus.
The development of this work revolved around the result of the observation of some programs that serve migrants in return or possible migrants who want to leave Guanajuato, because there is no program for young people from 11 to 19 years to be given a possibility of inclusion when they return to the state.
The study found the need to articulate the project through the national System for the Integral development of the family (DIF), and so have the opportunity to approach someone who can talk with them, who can serve them with such kindness and give an introduction to how you can get all your documents to know how to include in the social life of Guanajuato.
It has been argued that one of the main barriers of all migrants is not to be recognized by the authorities, not to recognize their studies and not to recognize their capacities because they do not have them certified, and that is the end of the investigation.
