Guanajuato, Gto., December 14, 2018.- Students of the degree in Digital arts of the Irapuato-Salamanca Campus of the University of Guanajuato obtained the first place and an honorable mention in the Urban Intervention Festival "León Light Fest 2018".

This urban intervention festival is based on visual and audiovisual arts disciplines and makes available to the participants technical and human infrastructure for the realization of visual pieces in different emblematic monuments the city of León, Guanajuato.

This meeting involves communities of students and graduates from universities in the state of Guanajuato, as well as groups or members of organizations related to visual manifestations.

The places that were intervened were the immaculate parish of the Coecillo, the temple of San Juan de Dios and the Arch of the Causeway, precisely the first place in the intervention of the arch was obtained by the team "Zpectrum" of the University of Guanajuato with the work "Messages"

Erika Mariana Martínez Sánchez member of the team "Zpectrum" said that "our process to present the work was a little complicated at first as we had to change our idea, but then it was easier. Winning meant a lot to us, we could see that our effort was worth it."

Meanwhile, the "Luxart" team also from the University of Guanajuato obtained an honorable mention for their work "Our roots". In this regard, the student Héctor Adrián Salazar mentioned that during the three days of the festival they developed video mapping works "an artistic expression in which it is sought to transform the facades of the buildings with the help of video, illustrations and Animations and thus express an idea or do something experimental."

The student said that for the UG teams it meant something important to have won since "we worked hard and gave our best, that's an important part of teamwork. It is very satisfying for us to see the final work in front of an audience and listen to the applause and congratulations. It's a new experience in our professional training."
