
Guanajuato, Gto., January 14, 2019.- Authorities of the University of Guanajuato (UG) headed by its President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, received 121 students who will make an academic stay in one of the four campuses of the institution during the school cycle January-June.
From 17 countries, such as Germany, Argentina, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, South Korea, Spain, the United States, Ethiopia, France, the Netherlands and Japan, among others, the young people arrived at UG as part of the inter-agency mobility program of the House of Studies.
At the welcome ceremony, UG's President noted that this is an opportunity for mutual learning, where those involved acquire knowledge and achieve a level of sensitivity that makes them better human beings.
He also argued that the most important thing in the UG internationalization project is interculturality, so he highlighted the reception of 78 foreign students and 43 from other institutions in Mexico.
In his speech, the Director of International Relations and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Elías Ledesma Orozco said that the University of Guanajuato is a benchmark in academic mobility and recalled that participation in these programs has been simplified with the entry because of the new university regulations.
On behalf of the student community, the student Daniela Gómez, of the Université Laval of Canada, gave a message, who thanked the opportunity to be in the UG to acquire knowledge and share experiences, while acknowledging that being part of this community also represents a responsibility.
The event was attended by the Academic Secretary of the UG, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz; the Director of Student Development, M. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez, directors of the four university campuses and the high school College.
