Guanajuato, Gto., January 12, 2019.- Due to the high-quality standards offered by the University of Guanajuato (UG), the National Council for the Accreditation of Higher Education in Law (CONFEDE) granted the reaccreditation for the law degree, valid until December 9, 2023.
This is an achievement that gives us legitimacy as a university, said the President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, who explained that educational institutions require an external look to review the quality of the academic programs offered.
The reaccreditation of the law degree -which is taught at Campus Guanajuato- is the result of a joint work, and "represents the greatness of our forum career," he said.
In the event, they gave recognition to members of the work team for the reaccreditation of the academic program of the law degree, to those who thanked them for their work during this process.
Previously, the rector of the Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendon Huerta Barrera, said that the accreditation of educational programs aims at continuous improvement, and in this case is a cause of special pride because it is awarded by the CONFEDE, organism which is the most important in the country in the legal field.
Therefore, I believe that the granted reaccreditation is an achievement and at the same time it is a commitment to continue working every day to achieve the highest academic excellence in a program with more than 190 years of history in the UG.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Board of Directors of CONFEDE, Dr. Maximo Carvajal Contreras, who said that this achievement requires a hard, meticulous and committed work.
He also recalled that UG was the first Mexican institution and the second in Latin America to be accredited by the International Institute of Law Accreditation (IIDEA), which speaks of the UG standards "which are worthy of praise," he said.
For his part, the Director of the Division of Political Law and government, Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, celebrated this reaccreditation and reiterated the conviction to continue developing a work with ethics, professionalism and rigor.
The Director of the Department of Law, Dr. Leandro Eduardo Astrain Bañuelos, said that the results obtained in the strict evaluation carried out by the CONFEDE show that the student community receives relevant, current and quality education, but also that The Faculty of professors has academic solvency and ethics to teach classes. He thanked CONFEDE for this recognition and reiterated the willingness to make changes that derive from a higher quality academic program.
After the ceremony, the authorities moved to the school yard of the Central building of the UG to proceed to the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
