Guanajuato, Gto. January 7, 2019.- Dr. Juan Manuel Peralta Hernández, a professor-researcher of the Department of Chemistry of the Division of Natural and Exact sciences of the Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG), recently, was invited to join to the Editorial Committee of the prestigious publication International Journal of Photoenergy, an indexed magazine founded in 1999 and is based in Egypt.

Dr. Peralta Hernández belongs to the National System of Researchers, level 2; he is part of the academic body of "Environmental Electrochemistry, and its line of research is the "Control of water pollution. Advanced oxidation processes", and currently carries out research in the development of electrochemical systems of advanced oxidation for the treatment of wastewater from the tannery.

This treatment offers several advantages, among which they emphasize their high level of efficiency, safety, easy implementation and also does not generate residues that form affectations in the environment. This technique eliminates large amounts of contaminants in the water such as drugs, dyes, industrial materials and pesticides.

As a result of his research, the application to join the editorial committee of the International Journal of Photoenergy arose. In an interview, Dr. Peralta Hernández commented on the important invitation that was extended to him: "That happened a couple of months ago, when the editor in chief approached me, a little by the trajectory that I have in this type of topics, to make me the invitation to belong to the Editorial committee, particularly in the subjects of photoelectrochemical and water treatment with solar energy, which is where I am participating as editor."

Peralta Hernández concluded by extending the invitation to his fellow researchers at the University of Guanajuato: "We invite all classmates in the university who are related to energy, solar energy, water treatment to submit their papers to the magazine."

It should be noted that the International Journal of Photoenergy is a peer-reviewed open access journal that publishes original research articles, as well as review articles in all areas of Photoenergy. Consolidates research activities in photochemistry and use of solar energy in a forum to discuss and share knowledge.
