
Guanajuato, Gto., January 23, 2019.- Arian Iveth Chia Hernández, student at the HS Guanajuato (ENMS) of the University of Guanajuato (UG), obtained her pass to the Pan-American Cross-country Championship after her outstanding participation in the national championship held in Asunción Nochixtlán, Oaxaca.
This event took place on January 12th, 2019, a selective competition for international competition. Arian participated in the 6 km test, in the youth category and obtained the second place that has earned her to join the Mexican team that will take part in the Pan-American Championship of this specialty to be held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago the next February 16th.
This participation adds to the achievements of Arian, double national champion in the 2000 meters with obstacles, and winner of the gold in the National Youth Olympiad 2017 in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León, with time of 7 minutes, with 12 seconds and 50 hundredths of the Juvenile junior category and that same year she was national champion of mountain races, triumph that took her in 2017 to the World Cup of the specialty that was held in Italy.

Last year, Arian Iveth Chia Hernández was part of the Mexican delegation at the Olympic Youth Games held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she broke the Mexican record of the specialty, stopping the clock in 6 minutes, with 52 seconds and 87 Hundredths, surpassing the record that had imposed by Daniela Rojas, which was 7 minutes, 2 seconds and 11 hundredths. Her coach is Professor Cecilio Blancarte Godínez.
The incorporation of Arian to the selection has been confirmed by the Mexican Federation of Athletic Associations by means of a communiqué issued by the Technical Commissioner of the Federation, Martín Paulín Luna.
