It is important to remember that the degree in nursing and obstetrics is part, since January of this year, of the Guanajuato Campus of the University of Guanajuato, ascribed to the division of Natural and Exact Sciences (DCNE).
In an interview, Miguel Ángel Lozano Nava defined himself as a person very committed to society and always looking for an opportunity to be able to grow as a person and professionally, so he is proud to have had the honor of representing the University of Guanajuato in the old continent last August of the 2018.
In those four weeks he developed international volunteering in France, together with seven students from different careers such as medicine, psychology, law, public relations and nursing, they were assigned a social impact project, which had to be solved among them.
This project consisted in finding the most creative and efficient way to improve some important construction for the inhabitants of a rural community, and so they arrived in Villevaux, a town in the north of France, where they managed to rebuild a very old mill, reshaping the finish.
To this end, the mayor of the place offered material resources for the remodeling of the mill, and the interesting thing about this activity, was that it was the interrelation between students from different countries, where each one offered an opinion according to their critical thinking and based on the knowledge of their career, their culture and their customs.
The communication was agreed to do it in English, which helped to practice the language in a more technical and correct way to argue its proposals and, at the end of its project, the organizers recognized the efficiency and work that had been done for the inhabitants of Villevaux, even a paged note was published for Gezoncourt, a recognized newspaper of Paris.
Days later the students were invited to represent their academic institutions and present their college pennants. "And it was there that proudly, in that volunteering, I put the name of the University of Guanajuato very high," said Miguel Ángel.
He also shared his experiences in the Parisian capital, where he visited the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, the National Academy of Music of Paris, "it was without a doubt an experience that helped me grow as a person, as a student, as a professional, allowed me to develop Critical thinking skills, problem solving, teamwork, development of English language practice," he said.
To conclude, Miguel Ángel thanked the experience that extends his horizons as a student and future university graduate, "This allows me to have a broader vision of wanting and being better at what I do, I'm proud UG and the truth shall set me free."
