Guanajuato, Gto., February 6, 2019.- The free law firm of the University of Guanajuato (UG) fulfills 80 years at the service of the community, providing legal advice to the people of Guanajuato of scarce resources.

A ceremony was held to protest the new members of the firm and dismissed with a delivery of awards to those who fulfilled their services in the initiative.

Xareni Jiménez Jiménez, student and current coordinator of the free law firm of the University of Guanajuato mentioned that the people interested in the services of the firm have to come to Garlarza St. 88 in Downtown Guanajuato Capital to present their cases and see if they are viable to obtain counseling because they only receive matters of family orality, civil and mercantile to a certain extent.

Xareni Jiménez said that the students that make up the firm attend from the third to the eighth semester of the law degree, "the students of the first semesters enter as auxiliaries of cases with less complexity whereas those of advanced semesters carry heavier cases such as servitude or succession issues."

During the past year the free law firm of the University of Guanajuato attended 115 family Affairs, 51 civil and 21 mercantile. In the protest, the coordinator addressed the students to meet new cases, solve them and that they could reach more to optimally continue with the service that they provide to the society.

On behalf of the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, the Attorney General of the House of Studies, Alejandro Murillo de la Rosa recalled that the firm was created 80 years ago as a professional service for law students and since then it has allowed the relationship with the community, "the firm is a link with our environment and people who s need it."

Meanwhile, Miguel Ángel Cervantes Flores, legal advisor of the Guanajuato Campus, representing the Rector of Campus, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendon Huerta Barrera urged young people to demonstrate their passion for justice and wished them success in this new professional stage they are on.

Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, Director of the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG) said that none of the cases are the same, which is why professional practice will be an exercise to strengthen them in their training.

Finally, the Director of the Department of Law, Dr. Leandro Eduardo Astraín Bañuelos invited young people to be protagonists of a social change and the strengthening of the rule of law in this country.
