Guanajuato, Gto., Febraury 22, 2019.- Emotional fatigue, depersonalization and lack of personal and professional performance are the characteristics of Burnout Syndrome, this syndrome is a disorder linked to the working atmosphere, stress caused by work and life of employee. The most common symptoms are depression and anxiety. Some of the people most affected by this syndrome are teachers.

In this sense and concerned about the quality of life of the teachers, the professors of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe El-Sahili and Dr. Edgar Fabián Torres Hernández investigated in which they realize that the test of the Occupational Wear Scale (EDO) whose purpose is to diagnose the syndrome has general reliability inconsistencies.

The research was published in a book titled "Burnout Analysis and its measurement scales: inaccuracy of the Occupational Wear Scale (EDO)" of the publisher "Los otros libros".

The professors of the University of Guanajuato mentioned that they carried out a test with EDO to 501 professors of the city of León, Guanajuato and the results showed a high level of depersonalization, from this, they were explored more carefully the Metric Properties – Reliability and validity-through descriptive statistics, inference and the model of structural linear equations (SEM). Dr. El-Sahili and Dr. Torres Hernández found inconsistencies in the overall reliability of the test, in their subscales and weak associations on the scale of depersonalization, and in relation to emotional exhaustion and achievement dissatisfaction.

The SEM technique showed a low predictive capacity of this factor. The two professors mentioned that the publication of the book serves to open a discussion in the rethinking of EDO, specifically in the subscale of depersonalization. Through the research both agreed that it is necessary to develop an instrument that focuses on diagnosing labor wear in specific populations of Mexico, particularly care or service to people.

It should be mentioned that the book will have upcoming presentations at book Fairs and Psychology Congresses. It is noteworthy that Dr. Edgar Fabián Torres Hernández has a degree in Psychology, a specialist in educational multimodality with a master's degree in teaching from the University of Guanajuato; he also has a PhD in Pedagogy by the College of Postgraduate Studies of Bajío, A.C.
