Master Gertrude Zhao Heissenberger, Counsellor for the Department "Culture and Language" of the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Research, expressed her gratitude and pride in presenting the "modest" Austrian Library as a representative of cooperation with UG It is an element with the cultural contribution in general. She recalled that there was a cultural convention of decades between Mexico and Austria in which there was a special collaboration on pedagogical issues as well.

She stressed the importance of learning the German language, a task for which they found fertile ground at the University of Guanajuato thanks to the cooperation of Helena Knapp with whom she worked since the year 2007.

In his speech, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendon Huerta Barrera, Rector of the Guanajuato Campus, said that receiving the Austrian Library in the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Campus Guanajuato "is a historical fact that will be written in the special ephemeris of this House of Studies because of the strong ties that unite us with the Austrian culture. In his welcome message, Dr. Cesar Federico Macías Cervantes, Director of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, said that the inauguration of the Austrian Library represents the intention that was manifested a year and a half ago in the same place and thanks to the good relations between the two academic institutions. Regarding the day, he said he seeks to promote different elements of German-speaking culture in general and Austrian in particular, not only in the academic community but in the Guanajuato society in general, which stands out in the need to participate in the Interculturality.
