Dolores Hidalgo, Gto. (C.I.N.), March 5, 2019.- Students from the University of Guanajuato (UG) were winners of the first hackathon Hack DHI that took place in the city of Dolores Hidalgo (C.I.N.) from March 1 to 3.
The students of the degree in administrative information systems and a student of the degree in international trade, both degrees of the Division of Economic and Administrative Sciences (DCEA) of UG's Guanajuato Campus, developed a system of messaging by social networks so that through bots can answer questions, doubts and provide information to tourists or consumers in the sector in which they prefer to use the application, in this case in the artisan sector ceramist or tourism for the visitor have a friendlier experience during your stay.
A hackathon is a marathon of project development with digital tools and electronic devices that allow to offer solutions to the problems of the environment, with a high social impact.
UG's Bot Company team is formed by students Oliver Alejandro López Rodríguez, Mónica Saldaña Escobedo and Karlo Eduardo García Sánchez of the degree in administrative information systems, and Adolfo Ramírez de San Cristóbal of the degree in international trade. Everyone agreed that they will continue to attend these events to better position the products they are developing, where the use of bots is decisive in solving everyday problems, as well as improving their own skills as technological developers.
The students created a project that consisted in the development of Chatbots that facilitate a tourist, have a technological tool that allows them to have a better experience when visiting the city, showing places of interest, where to stay, where to eat and to encourage the permanence of the wanderer in the city. They consider that the graphical interfaces of the information systems can evolve to be Chatbots and that is why they try to solve problems through this type of software.
A bot is an artificial intelligence software designed to perform a series of tasks on its own and without the help of the human being. The most frequent model is that of the Chatbot, a robot capable of simulating a conversation with a person and for that reason they are increasingly present in the messaging applications.
In total, the 10 most relevant projects were selected; three being awarded the most viability. The second place was obtained by the team of the Technological Institute of Celaya, developing an application for the tourism sector, using an IQ code for the visitor to see every attraction he visits. The Technological University of Northern Guanajuato (located in Dolores Hidalgo) won third place by developing an application focused on public safety, which reduces the time and effort employed in the administrative process of police officers and transit.
The Hackathon Hack DHI was attended by more than 250 young people from different educational institutions in the state of Guanajuato, such as universities and technological institutes, who for 72 hours learned tutoring software That guided them in the vanguard technological innovations. The technological proposals of this hackathon focused on the sectors tourism, ceramics and public safety of the Dolorense municipality, being one of the relevant characteristics of the practical collaboration of problems of the place where the meeting is held.
The event was organized by Team Bravers, led by Fernanda Ochoa, together with the Directorate of Economic Development and the Municipal Innovation Council of this city, who obtained the endorsement of the Major League Hacking (MLH), which is the official International hackathon league for students. Each year, this organization promotes more than 200 international competitions of inventions during a weekend trying to impact in the communities where it develops; They have taught computer skills to more than 65000 students around the world.
The MLH mentions on its website that it is a community of committed and passionate manufacturers, agglutinating the next generation of leaders. Its main objective is to promote the development of technologies that allow the solution of problems of the environment through the talent of the inhabitants of the place where they flock.
On the other hand, on its Facebook page you can read that Team Bravers is a multidisciplinary team that organizes, participates and collaborates in scientific and technological base events and projects with high social impact.
