
Guanajuato, Gto., March 12, 2019.- The University of Guanajuato has 39 agreements made with 21 higher education institutions in Japan, this makes it the Latin American University that has more academic relations with the country of the rising sun.
One of these relationships is the Bivalent Baccalaureate, a program of competencies for the work with scientific and Technological foundation with international profile between the University of Guanajuato and the Technological University of Nagaoka. One of the aspects of this baccalaureate is the visit for two weeks of students from Japan to Guanajuato and vice versa.
In this context, authorities of the University of Guanajuato welcomed a Japanese delegation of 12 students and 5 professors of technological Institutes of Nagaoka, Ibaraki, Tsuruoka and Oyama.
The young student of the Technological Institute of Tsuruoka, Joanne Puj Chien mentioned in an interview that is the first time he visited Mexico and expressed his emotion to know the University of Guanajuato. In principle it struck the beauty of the Central building "its architecture is amazing; I've never seen anything like it in Japan." In addition to his native language-the Japanese-speaks a little English and Spanish and studies chemical engineering.
She said that international exchanges allow to make new friendships and to know the culture of the country, in this respect he referred to her visit to the Salamanca high school in which she met students of the University of Guanajuato who explained her about Mexican traditions like piñatas and the day of the dead.
On the other hand, the professor of the Technological Institute of Oyama, Hiroyuki Nagamine mentioned that he hopes that this experience will be of great benefit to his students and that they form friendships with the Mexican students. He indicated that this is the second time he visited Guanajuato and that he would like to continue this academic relationship since he defined it as fruitful and enriching.
On behalf of the university community, the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino welcomed the delegation and distinguished that Japanese culture is characterized by various qualities such as "wisdom, discipline and greatness as people." He also reaffirmed the bonds of brotherhood that unite the University of Guanajuato and Japan.
It should be mentioned that in the remainder of his visit to the University of Guanajuato, the Japanese delegation will go to the Guanajuato high school; Participate in the annual report of the middle school; Visit the facilities of the Department of Chemistry and also make a cultural walk through the archaeological zone of plazas in the municipality of Pénjamo.
