Guanajuato, Gto., March 20, 2019.- Nathalia del Carmen Jasso Vera, high school student at the HS León Historical Center obtained the pass to the European Women's Mathematics Olympics to be held in Kiev, Ukraine in April.

Nathalia was pre-selected in December for obtaining a prominent participation in the National Olympics, she obtained silver and bronze medals in the previous two editions.

After 5 months of training, along with 3 other students, at the Math Research Center (CIMAT) that included training in new topics and 4-and-a-half-hour exams for the resolution of 3 problems, Nathalia will represent the country in the eighth Edition of this international fair to be held from April 7 to 13 this year.

For this young woman to have managed to be part of the national team and participate in an international fair is a cause of great pride and comments that it has always been a dream since she was 12 years old has participated in several competitions, obtaining two gold medals , three silver and two bronze.

"My preparation started since I was in sixth grade, since then I have participated in national competitions and it is the first time that I have participated in an international competition. In these competitions, creativity is developed rather than memorization, we must know how to solve problems," she said.

Nathalia is a student of the fourth semester of the Bivalent Baccalaureate and in addition to participating in mathematics competitions, she has held international stays in France and Canada; In addition, she won the Municipal Youth Prize, which makes this young woman a pride for the state, the university and the country.

"This result is thanks to the effort and dedication of 5 years of study that culminates with the dream to represent the country and I want to obtain a great result in the international stage," he said while thanking the support to his professors, university authorities and the CIMAT professors of that have accompanied at all times in her trajectory.

"We all have a talent, something we are very good at, the important thing is to get out of the comfort zone and dare to do what we really like," she concluded.
