León, Gto., March 28, 2019.- In order to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the subject of intangible heritage of Mexico, students of fourth semester of the degree in Culture and Art, of the Campus León of the University of Guanajuato (UG), carried out a work field trip to the town of Araró in the state of Michoacán, belonging to the commune of Zinapécuaro.

For three days, the students took the task of recording the elements of the study of the Patronal Feast of Araró, where they analyzed the traditional dances and rituals performed on this festivity.

In this sense, the young people carried out interviews with the inhabitants of the place to generate topics for their research within the subject taught by Dr. Alejandro Martínez De la Rosa, current director of the Department of Cultural Studies.

In an interview, the pupil Ariadna Aimé Rodríguez López commented that this activity allows to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the subject in real situations, where the students must apply different methodologies and obtain information.

"With these activities we students can develop actions such as teamwork, information analysis and also have a vision of what field work is in this specific area; As well as to realize different options that we have to develop in our professional work in the future," she said.

The patron feast of the Lord of Araró is one of the most representative religious traditions of Michoacán, who attend are, for the most part, Michoacán migrants returning on this date.

In this festivity the streets of the entity are dressed in colorful rugs that the locals produce to mark the rest of the religious image. The attendees who witnessed this dance came from places like Acámbaro and the State of Mexico, without leaving aside the student community of the UG.
