Guanajuato, Gto., April 2, 2019.- As part of the internationalization projects of the High School College of the University of Guanajuato, college authorities welcomed the French delegation of Lycée Saint Joseph Vendôme.
A total of 12 young French students visited the city of Guanajuato to carry out a series of activities in which they will have the opportunity to know the Mexican culture, its traditions, customs, as well as the history of the University of Guanajuato and its Development in the formation of students committed to the society.
One of the main objectives of the alliances that the high school has with the French institution is the development of a sustainable project among the students of the schools of the two countries, in addition to the cultural immersion that is generated through of short-term stays and the strengthening of the second language, French or Spanish as the case may be.
In the welcome event, representing the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, the Academic Secretary, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz gave a message in which he thanked the presence of the delegation French in Guanajuato. He informed them that during his visit will be inaugurated a very important event for the University of Guanajuato, the 61st edition of the Fair of the book and will be presented the prize Ibargüengoitia of literature to a renowned Mexican writer, Guillermo Sheridan. "If you want to know more about Mexican literature, attend the events."
The Director of the College of Higher middle level, J. Merced Rizo Carmona noted that for the University of Guanajuato is very important to generate projects of internationalization so that in addition to the agreement with France, they have others in Japan and the United States. He encouraged young students to enjoy their stay and to take advantage of them to strengthen creative and cultural ties.
Representing the Lycée Saint Joseph Vendôme, Professor Rodolphe Ndong thanked the reception of the university authorities and distinguished the relevance of international exchanges and student mobility. He said that this is the first time they visit Mexico and that he is sure that it will be of great benefit to the French students because "the encounter with other cultures is always enriching".
It should be noted that this exchange project promotes institutional openness to the outside and promotes coordinated cooperation between institutions for the strengthening of scientific, technological and humanist development.
