
Guanajuato, Gto., April 8, 2019.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) and the University of Southern Oregon University (SOU) signed a memorandum of understanding and collaboration agreement within the framework of its 50th anniversary as sister institutions. Reason why a delegation headed by the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino visited the American University.
During the renovation of cooperation and collaboration with the University of Southern Oregon, the President of the University of Guanajuato mentioned in a message addressed to the community of the two universities that he hopes that the history of cooperation that has twinned both universities expands over time.
He also commented that the two higher-level educational institutions have forged a solid relationship "is so solid that they reflect each other." He also said that years ago there was no communication technology as advanced as now and said: "There is no excuse, the best way to celebrate the 50 anniversary is to committing even more with the relationship we have forged."
The president of SOU, Dr. Linda Schott at the brotherhood renewal ceremony, said, "Today's agreement is to reaffirm our commitment to the exchange of students and teachers." Subsequently Dr. Guerrero Agripino and Dr. Scott signed the collaboration agreement between the two institutions and asserted that they are committed to building an even stronger relationship.
It should be noted that more than 1000 students from both universities have participated in exchange programs during the half-century that have a brotherhood.
It should be recalled that President Schott along with a SOU delegation visited Guanajuato last year and to continue the 50 anniversary celebrations a new U.S. delegation will be in the city of Guanajuato from May 27 to 31.
