alanLeón, Gto., April 24, 2019.- Alan Fernando Lara Murillo, student of the degree in culture and art of the University of Guanajuato (UG) León Campus, had an outstanding participation in the IV International Congress of critical and literary theory that took place at the Ibero-American University, Mexico City.

This event gathered 50 young people from different entities of the country organized by the Ibero-American University through its Department of Letters.

The main theme of the Congress was "between laughter and rabies, resistance and cultural representations" with which the participants presented papers where they analyzed literary works and from their perspective they announced how the production operates of artistic images in the Latin American political present and through which forms the laughter is summoned or the anger is manifested in art, theory or activism and how resistance to new conservatism is opposed.

Alan Lara, participated in the category of "bodies, Corporality and Performabilities" with the story of "Los anacrónicos" by renowned Mexican writer Ignacio Padilla, who was awarded the Juan Rulfo Award in the year 2008.

With this compilation of three tales Alan made an approximation to the characters that appear in the work, the narrations and the imaginary universe offered by the author through short stories.

In an interview, he said that in his paper gave a panorama about the performativity of gender from the work of the author who is considered by critics as surreal and with stories with the classic tone of magic realism with finals for all audiences they leave the reader to conclude with an open end to several possibilities.

He added that part of his work seeks to revalorize the work of Ignacio Padilla and his creative capability, as well as emphasize the story as a literary genre with the possibility of being used to generate different projects.

It is noteworthy that the young college student was supported by Dr. Tarik Torres Mujica, professor-researcher of the Department of Cultural Studies of the León Campus and was the one who provided the theoretical and methodological tools to address the literary work.

The categories in which mainly graduate students participated were "laughter and rage in literature and other arts", "representations and policies of affections", "Feminisms and critical Gender Studies", "forms of the common, ethics and Identity", " Digital narratives: networks, platforms and interfaces "and" modalities of the human/non-human."
