Salamanca, Gto., May 9, 2019.- In compliance with international quality standards, the Accreditation Council of the Engineering Education A.C. (CACERES) ruled the accreditation of the programs of mechanical engineering, communications and electronics, mechatronics and computational systems at the Engineering division of the Irapuato-Salamanca Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG).

The four bachelor programs are added to the electrical engineering program that in December 2018 obtained the International accreditation valid until 2021, thus adding five programs with this quality distinction at the Salamanca headquarters.

To the bachelor's degree in computer systems engineering, was granted an accreditation for 5 years, effective until 2024. The validity of the accreditation for the programs of engineering in communications and electronics, mechatronics engineering and mechanical engineering, will until 2022, according to the documents subscribed by the Eng. María Elena Barrera Bustillos, general director of the CACEI A.C.

"We want to acknowledge and express our gratitude to all the support team that contributed with their experience and effort to achieve such an achievement. Recognize the leadership of the program coordinators and the curricular evaluation committees. With these results, we have our 5 engineering programs from the Salamanca headquarters as accredited for meeting international standards, said the academic secretary of the DICIS, Dr. Rocío Alfonsina Lizárraga Morales.

For his part, Dr. Víctor Ayala Ramírez, Director of the Division of Engineering expressed his congratulations to all the teachers who contribute to these programs and to all the engineering students that constitute the raison d'être of the educational programs.

"The road does not end with this achievement, but it will always be comforting this kind of news to undertake new challenges in the pursuit of academic excellence that has an impact on society," the executive said in meeting with accredited programme coordinators, Dr. José Ángel Diosdado de la Peña (mechanics), Dr. Carlos Hugo García Capulín (computer systems), Dr. Felipe de Jesús Trujillo Romero (Communications and Electronics), Dr. Mario Alberto García Murillo (mechatronics) and Dr. José Merced Lozano Garcia, Director of the electrical department.
