Guanajuato, Gto., May 6, 2019.- "Acoustic Meditations" is a recently created work written by composer Adalberto Tovar, a graduate of the Department of Music and current manager of the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG). This work will be premiered in Argentina by the Entre Rios Symphony Orchestra (OSER).
To commemorate seven decades of existence, the OSER performs within its concert season a cycle of contemporary music in which the work of the composer of Guanajuato will be interpreted. The concert will be held next Saturday 11th May in the city of Paraná and will also have as guest the director of the OSUG, Roberto Beltrán Zavala.
Adalberto Tovar commented that "acoustic meditations" was a work commissioned by the OSUG for the celebration of its 65th anniversary, "the work is integrated by a series of reflections on the sound itself: the timbre, the color, the rhythm. All the melodic sequences of the work arise from a technical reflection on the sound timbre and how it can be changed through the orchestration."
It is important to emphasize that the works carried out by and for the University of Guanajuato are transcending internationally and are heard not only in the institution but around the world and with interpreters from other latitudes, which further enriches the musical compositions that are now part of the historical memory of the University of Guanajuato.
"Acoustic meditations" has already been premiered internationally in Italy and has also been interpreted in important venues such as the Teatro Juárez and the Bicentennial Theatre, for it to premiere now in South America is a satisfaction for the composer who he said: "This work commissioned by the OSUG continues to have repercussion, is every composer's dream come true, that a work of yours is constantly reinterpreted with musicians from your country and other cultures are aspects that keep it alive."
Currently Adalberto Tovar is a fellow of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) and is working on a project that involves compositions for different ensembles of chamber and Voice, based on texts of classical Mexican poetry. He is also writing a work for quintet of Wood that will premiere the ensemble "Zephyrus" and performs a commission for a string orchestra, all coupled with his work as manager of the OSUG.
It is noteworthy that prestigious musicians from different parts of the world will meet in Paraná for four Saturdays to offer a careful program of contemporary music next to the OSER. Shostakovich, Penderecky, Terzian, Hindemith are some of the names that will deck out the cycle of contemporary music of the province Entre Ríos.
